John B. Baldwin comes to JohnHart after almost ten years with a small family firm where he developed a great following of loyal clients who value his integrity, follow through, and extensive knowledge. A fifth generation graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, John received his Bachelor’s degree in English in the Spring of 2002, then headed east to Washington DC where he entered the world of development raising funds for an education non-profit through direct mail as well as foundation and government grants. In 2004, when the opportunity came to travel west to learn Real Estate from a top agent in Claremont, CA, John jumped at the chance. After four short years as an agent, John was recognized for his hard work and tenacity as the top sales agent in his office for 2008.

Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, John brings to the table the Midwestern work ethic and sincerity that helps him excel and his clients can rely in addition to the independence that comes from growing up in the Great Lakes State. Never one to pull punches, John voices his concerns (the good, the bad, & the ugly) to help his clients work through the difficult decisions that sometimes come around during a real estate transaction. His breadth of knowledge and analytical thinking about all aspects of the real estate transaction help his clients feel comfortable in moving forward at each step knowing that they have a true professional going to bat for them.

Realizing that he wanted to improve and expand his skill-set, John continued his real estate education in 2010 by earning the designation of Certified Negotiation Expert as well as taking courses in Short Sales and Distressed Properties. Over his almost ten years as an agent John has learned how to efficiently build a network of top professionals in Mortgage Lending, Escrow and Title services in addition to Roofers, Plumbers and Carpenters who can help his clients make informed decisions before and after the real estate transaction.

In late 2012, John with a couple of close friends whose shared interest in great food, brewing craft beer and love of music led them to embark on a new venture together by opening their own restaurant in Studio City. Tuning Fork Gastropub opened its doors to the public in March of 2013 and has received a great response from the community. Featuring a fresh ingredient focused seasonal menu paired with local Craft Beers and small vineyard California Wines, Tuning Fork is getting rave reviews.
